There is a special place in hell for the Youtube product people that on purpose do not allow anyone, even Kids, to only watch and experience Youtube limited to their own subscriptions. There is no way to limit Youtube apps to only show videos from the channels you're subscribed to.
Well, there is not much more to say about this subject.
But it definitely feels like Youtube just wants dump its entire garbage all over you (via algorithm suggestions) even if you have premium paid accounts.
There is no way to filter Youtube to only experience content you're actually subscribed to. Or when in subscriptions page there is no way to sort or filter any date, time, likes, views preference.
I, for one, am bothered with this, as that could have been a great way to experience the app. But, that is nothing, a huge nothing, besides the harm they are causing to kids who are using the app.
There is no way to keep your kid away from Youtube, its everywhere now. There is actually no need to, if you use it under control for their amusement and / or perhaps some edutainment.
But as a parent there is absolutely no way for you to choose specific channels, and keep the Youtube or unbelievably Youtube Kids app to only show content only from those channels you choose.
When you search for it you can come across the very valuable advice that there is "Approved Content Only" setting under Parental Controls. Which is useless manipulative crap in 2 ways.
- IT DOES NOT EXIST GLOBALLY! PROBABLY ONLY EXISTS IN SOME SELECT COUNTRIES, IN WHICH YOUTUBE FEELS LIKE IT HAS TO PRETEND IT CARES TO LOOK MORE CHILD-FRIENDLY.
- EVEN IN THOSE COUNTRIES IT IS LOADS OF CRAP BECAUSE IT STILL DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO PICK CHANNELS. IT SAYS IT HAS PARTNERS THAT PICKS CHANNELS GOOD FOR YOUR KID?!?!
This is pure evil.
A feature that could easily be provided by such a humongous corporation, but is not, due to only explicable reason that is available, for profit.
Pouring garbage over your children's eyes, for profit.
Well, that is the textbook definition of, pure evil.
PS. After some friend's comment I've remembered. You can not add "video marked for kids" to any playlist. Yeah. You can't. It says this video is marked for kids, you can not add to a playlist. Let me repeat that.
YOU CAN NOT MAKE A PLAYLIST OF KID SONGS FOR YOUR CHILD ON YOUTUBE.
Do you see how weird this looks?
